Massive flames engulf 3-story house in east San Antonio

SAFD: No one injured, cause of fire on N Pine Street under investigation

SAN ANTONIO - A massive fire ripped though a 3-story house in east San Antonio early Friday morning.

San Antonio firefighters responded to the fire around 2:30 a.m. in the 800 block of North Pine Street.

Fire officials said flames were seen "from the basement all the way to the attic."

Fire officials said the home is old and because of the construction, it allows fire to spread easily from top to bottom.

The fire was believed to have started in the back of the house but the cause is under investigation.

The house was vacant, but had utilities and was for sale, according to a sign in the front yard.

Fire officials said no one was injured. Damages were estimated at $250,000.
