SAPD: Suspect Daryll Blair charged at officer, stole police SUV

SAN ANTONIO - The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Officer has released the name of a man who was killed during an officer-involved shooting last Tuesday.

Daryll Blair, 19, was fatally shot by San Antonio police officer Sharonda Harris in the 8900 block of Datapoint Drive on July 16.

Officers were initially called to a disturbance around 4 a.m. at a food mart near the intersection of Gardendale and Datapoint.

Police said Blair charged at officers and jumped into a San Antonio police SUV. Blair made it a few hundred feet in the stolen police vehicle before crashing into another car.

Investigators said Blair charged at Officer Harris again and she shot and killed him. Harris, a 4-year-veteran, was placed on administrative duty as per department protocol.
