Houston gas station deadly shooting caught on camera

HPD: Woman shot and killed man, claimed he made sexual advance towards her

HOUSTON - The Houston Police Department will not immediately criminally charge a woman who shot and killed a man at a gas station, but will forward the case to the Harris County District Attorney's office to be reviewed by a Grand Jury.

According to Houston police, the man, identified by family as Louis Daniels, 58, approached the woman at around 7 p.m. Sunday night at a Gulf Station.

Police say the man made sexual advances toward her, but she told him repeatedly to go away.

Houston police say the man then produced a knife and advanced toward her.

The woman went back to her trunk and got a .22 caliber gun and fired multiple shots at the man, killing him in the parking lot.

Relatives told KPRC-TV Houston the woman went back to her car and grabbed a camera and began recording the shooting victim, but police have not confirmed that.

"I don't see this as self-defense, I see a cold blooded murder," Darryl Daniels, the shooting victim's brother, said.

Daniels believes if there was a problem, the unidentified woman had plenty of opportunity to remove herself from the situation.

"Why wouldn't she just walk away, instead she has time to go into her car and get a rifle," Daniels said.

Police say the gas station has security cameras and they were rolling at the time.

Officials said the two were seen arguing before the man swung at her. The woman backed away, then held up a gun, and shot it at the man.

She then put the gun back in her trunk and continued to pump gas.

Witnesses were able to give her license plate to investigators.

The 23-year-old woman was arrested a short time later, but Monday afternoon Houston Police confirmed the woman would not be charged with a crime at this point.

Authorities have not released the name of the shooter in this incident.
