Suspect in daycare car break-ins faces credit card abuse charges
San Antonio Police: Rodolfo Martinez preyed upon women dropping off their children
A 32-year-old man is facing a charge of credit card abuse stemming from a series of car break-ins in which the victims were dropping off children at local daycare centers. Rodolfo Martinez was arrested Wednesday and booked into jail with bond set at $10,000.
The first case was reported on July 23. However, the newest charge stems from an incident that happened August 22 outside Castle Hills Learning Center in the 2700 block of Nacogdoches Road, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
The victim in this case, as in the others, reported having her purse stolen during the car burglary. Later, she notified police that someone had used a credit card that was in her purse, the affidavit stated.
Detectives said they were able to obtain surveillance video from that business. They identified Martinez as the man in that video as well as in surveillance pictures from another store where a different stolen card was used, the affidavit stated.
