Alcohol, speed blamed in NW Side crash
Driver taken to University Hospital, expected to recover
A driver lost control of his car and slammed into a utility box on the Northwest Side early Friday morning.
The crash happened just after 2 a.m. at Huebner Road and Golden Quail.
San Antonio police say the driver, a man in his 50s, was headed west down Huebner when he lost control, jumped a curb and struck the utility box.
The car rolled over and rescue crews were forced to cut through a window to get him out.
The driver was taken to University Hospital for treatment, but police said he was expected to recover.
Police say both speed and alcohol contributed to the crash. Charges were unknown early Friday morning.
