SAPD: NW side steak house robbed

Texas Land and Cattle hit by thieves early Monday morning

Police are searching for suspects after an aggravated robbery at a northwest side steak house.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. on Monday at Texas Land and Cattle on Interstate 10 and Wurzbach.

Employees had just arrived to get ready for opening when the robbers busted in.

Other employees were later kept away by police as they investigated the crime scene.

"A police officer stopped me and told me that our restaurant was robbed," said Chloe Martin, a server and bartender there. "Everyone was OK, but they (wouldn't) let me in. I (was) worried about my manager and co-workers who are in there. It's kind of shaken me up."

According to a statement issued by police, the victim was confronted immediately by the suspect at the front door. The suspect threatened her with a silver handgun, demanded money and led her to rear of the restaurant where he sprayed her in the face with pepper spray.

The manager walked in while the suspect was still there. The suspect pointed his gun at the manager and demanded that she open the safe and give him the money.

The manager was able to open the safe and the suspect fled with an unknown amount of money.

Police investigators said they do have a description of the robber and are now trying to track them down.

The suspect is described by police as being a black male, between the ages of 20 and 30, about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black shirt, gray pants, tan boots, gloves, and wearing a t-shirt over his face as a mask.

Witnesses said he fled in a blue or purple Lincoln Navigator.
