Two injured in separate early morning shootings

Off-duty officer detained after 1 shooting

Two injuries were reported after two separate shootings Saturday morning.

The first shooting happened around 12:50 a.m. in the 4200 block of Thousand Oaks.

According to police, a man was arguing with five other people when one of the five people shot the man in the shoulder and torso.

The victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.

All five suspects fled the scene.

Police are not sure what the confrontation was about.

The second shooting happened around 3:45 a.m. Saturday around N. Palmetto and Interstate 35.

According to police, an argument began at a home on the access road involving an off-duty Olmos Park officer.

Police say the officer shot another person twice in the chest and once in the hand.

Police are not sure what started the argument. They say the Olmos Park officer faces aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges.

EMS took the victim was taken to SAMMC in critical condition.

He is now listed as stable.
