Man wanted in Dollar General robbery

Clerk: Man robbed store with handgun

San Antonio police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who they said robbed the Dollar General located in the 13000 block of Independence Avenue on March 8.

A clerk at the store told investigators the man bought several items, including socks, T-shirts and an energy drink, then came back in to return them.

She said that's when the man pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the registers and safe.

The clerk handed over an unknown amount of money and the suspect fled.

The suspect is described as being a black male, between the ages of 23 and 28, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He had a full beard and was wearing a black hooded long-sleeve shirt, creased blue jeans tucked into boots and a camouflage hat.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for this crime.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect's identity or his whereabouts are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP.
