Boy, 4, dies in rollover accident on I-35

5-year-old pinned under car, in serious condition

A 4-year-old boy was killed Thursday in a rollover accident on I-35.

The boy was thrown from an SUV just after 5 p.m. on I-35 near mile marker 141 in Southwest Bexar County.

A 5-year-old boy was pinned underneath the vehicle, and was rushed to University Hospital with serious injuries.

Police said three adults were in the SUV and all suffered superficial injuries. None of the three were wearing seatbelts.

Investigators said the SUV was northbound in the far right lane when the driver suddenly over-corrected. The vehicle hit the median in the far left lane and rolled over. No other cars were involved in the crash.

The driver could face charges of endangerment of a child and improper restraint of a child. The relationships of the people in the SUV have not been released by police.
