SAN ANTONIO - About a month ago, KSAT asked viewers on Facebook, "If you could see the latest health inspection scores for San Antonio restaurants, which ones would you like to see?"

KSAT viewers suggested digging up inspection scores for Bud Jones Cafe on Southwest Military, Chacho's & Chalucci's on Perrin-Beitel and Luby's Cafeteria at South Park Mall. Each received multiple requests by viewers.

Bud Jones Cafe located at 1440 S.W. Military Drive was last inspected on May 16. They received an excellent score of nine demerits.

Their minor issues were employee-related regarding eating and drinking in the kitchen.
Madge Arnold has worked at the cafe for 15 years. She's proud of the 58-year-old cafe and their score.

"Well, we thank the department for that. They are very good at keeping us updated on the changes and some of them are monthly changes. And they do a good job of keeping us informed so that we can comply," said Arnold.

KSAT Behind the Kitchen Door crews also made a point of searching for the restaurant's health inspection report and whether it was posted in a place where customers can see it.

Bud Jones' inspection report was on a shelf right by the cash register.

Chacho's & Chalucci's located 8614 Perrin Beitel was last inspected on Feb. 10. They also received an excellent score of just six demerits.

They were told to clean up grease outside especially near dumpsters and replace broken or chipped plates.

Their inspection report was above the cash registers, but we're told it was moved for re-modeling.

Luby's Cafeteria located at 2310 S.W. Military Drive was last inspected on Feb. 18.

The health department gave them only five demerits. Some food was not quite cold enough and was removed from the serving line.

One of the managers was all smiles when asked about their score but said he could not talked to BKD crews on camera, and we could not do our spot check either.
