SAN ANTONIO - A west Bexar County man has been arrested after allegedly knocking down his ex-girlfriend with his car door, then leading Bexar County sheriff's deputies on a brief chase that ended with him running from his crashed car.
Dionne Brown, 39, was taken into custody Monday in connection with the incident which happened on Sunday.
An arrest warrant affidavit stated that his ex-girlfriend notified deputies that Brown had shown up at her home in far west Bexar County, asking her to reconcile with him.
The affidavit stated that she told them she had broken up with him in July after he reportedly beat her. She told them she refused to get back together, but did tell Brown she wanted him to return her house key, the affidavit stated.
When she reached for the key, she said Brown suddenly began to speed off in his car, then opened the car door, hitting her and knocking her to the ground, the affidavit stated.
Deputies later attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Brown sped off and led them on a brief chase, the affidavit stated.
The chase ended with Brown crashing his car and running away from the wrecked vehicle, the affidavit stated. He eventually was arrested and booked into the Bexar County Jail on a charge of continuous violence against family.
