More ashes found at former mortuary

FORT WORTH, Texas - A cleaning crew has found another box of ashes at a Fort Worth building that was used as a mortuary and where the remains of eight unrefrigerated corpses were discovered last month.

Police say it's the seventh container of ashes found at the former funeral home that was shut in July. The ashes have been sent to the Tarrant County medical examiner for analysis.

Mortuary owners Dondre Johnson and Rachel Hardy-Johnson already are facing seven misdemeanor charges of abuse of a corpse. They're free on bond.

The pair's business was supposed to be featured on a cable TV network reality show. That plan's been scrapped.

Building owner Jim Labenz tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram the latest discovery this week was on a shelf behind some cleaning and embalming supplies.
