A former police officer was found guilty Tuesday of aggravated assault against a public servant in the shooting of a Selma Police Department officer.
According to the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney's Office, Officer Tiffany Kierum was called to the 9000 block of Pinseeker on Sept. 19, 2013, after calls came in of a man, later identified as Jessie Hernandez, dragging a woman inside a home in the area.

When Kierum arrived to the home, she spoke to the woman, identified as Hernandez's wife, and asked her to leave the home, but the woman said she couldn't move due to an injury.
In an audio recording played for jurors, Hernandez's wife can be heard asking Kierum to help her, but Hernandez could be heard telling his wife not to move.
Sergeant Jesus Balderamas, who arrived as backup for Kierum, told jurors that within seconds of him arriving to the home, Hernandez began shooting at the officers.
According to the DA's Office, Kierum was shot in the head and Balderamas was shot in the leg, but fired back at Hernandez, injuring him.
While Kierum's injuries weren't fatal, she suffered permanent injuries and has undergone several surgeries.
Officials said Hernandez elected for jurors to determine his punishment.
Aggravated assault against a public servant is a first-degree felony, punishable by five to 99 years or life in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
Court will resume Wednesday.
