Detective Robert Dart

GMSA Traffic Reporter

After putting in a 40-hour work week with the San Antonio Police Department, people wonder why (on my days off) I get up at 2:30 a.m. to put on a heavy uniform and report on traffic on Good Morning San Antonio. It's simple -- I have so much fun.

I really don't think of GMSA as work. GMSA is like gym class or lunch in junior high school. It is the class or time you look forward to hanging out with your friends. That is what GMSA is all about. At GMSA, we're not just hanging out in the studio, we are hanging out with you, the viewer.

It's not all fun and games, though. When it comes to news, weather, and traffic, we take our reporting seriously. I know that getting ready in the morning and out the door on time is sometimes a challenge and nobody wants anything to delay their routine any more than is necessary. That's why TimeSaver Traffic strives to gather as much information on accidents that might cause the slightest of delays.

What makes TimeSaver Traffic better than other traffic reports? The fact that Officer Marcus Trujillo and I have actually worked scenes of hundreds of accidents and know what goes into investigating them. We know what it takes to manage an accident scene and have seen first-hand how accidents affect everyday traffic.

Thank you for letting us come into your home and letting us spend part of our morning with you. Mark, Leslie, Mike, Marcus, and I owe it all to you for making us No. 1 in the morning. We hope you continue to support us and keep us there.

Drive carefully.
