UTSA students watch lively VP debate
Turnout lower than for first presidential debate
SAN ANTONIO - UTSA students who came out to watch the only vice presidential debate said it was more entertaining than the first presidential debate.
“For sure it was more aggressive,” said Rodrigo Cauvillo about the exchanges between Vice President Joe Biden and Republican challenger Paul Ryan.
However students like Natalie Casso said at times, the sparring was distracting.
"They’re going a little too much into trying to overpower the other. Maybe they’re not getting to the facts,” Casso said
"I don’t think it’s going as great as the Romney-Obama debate,” said Christopher Espinoza, but he thought Paul Ryan was holding his own.
Organizers of the non-partisan event said only about 200 students turned out Thursday evening, compared to the 750 who watched the first presidential debate.
