Republican enters race for State Sen. Dist. 25

Mike Novak challenging incumbent Donna Campbell

SAN ANTONIO - A local businessman is making his first bid for political office, challenging Republican State Sen. Donna Campbell for the District 25 seat.

Novak made the announcement Thursday.

"We've had strong, conservative leadership in District 25, but what I have heard time and time again from business owners is that their interests have been forgotten," said Novak in a press release.

Campbell was elected to her first term in 2012, ousting long-time State Sen. Jeff Wentworth.

Former San Antonio councilwoman Elisa Chan has also said she will enter this race.

The primary election is March 4, 2014.
