SAN ANTONIO -- Phil Hardberger is approaching his one-year anniversary as mayor of San Antonio.Politics aside, it's clear he's done a tremendous job already and we're looking forward to more.A champion of the arts and city parks as well as protector of the Riverwalk, Hardberger has put his money where his mouth is and swiftly took action to enact policies that make San Antonio better.He also stepped up to do the right thing when it came to taking care of Hurricane Katrina victims, brought in a city manager to get work done and is cleaning up our animal-care services.And while pushing hard to redo Main Plaza, he shows true leadership skills by his willingness to compromise on street closures.We're glad Mayor Hardberger has made good on his position and is helping to elevate San Antonio to where it needs to be.
