SOMERSET, Texas -- A former teacher in the Somerset Independent School District has been charged with sending topless photos of herself to a 14-year-old teenager.

Victoria Ann Chacon, 27, resigned from her job at Somerset Junior High School in March once school officials announced they intended to investigate claims of an improper relationship with the student, Somerset ISD spokesman Maury Vasquez said.

The student was not a student in the district, Vasquez said. District officials and law enforcement officials investigated the claims, but did not have sufficient evidence to charge Chacon with any crime until recently, he said.

"This past summer -- months later -- when some, an adult in the life of the teenager, discovered some inappropriate photos that apparently, the former teacher had been sending to the teenager," Vasquez said.

Chacon has been charged with display of harmful material to a minor.
