JUNCTION, Texas – The Junction Independent School District has canceled classes Tuesday for a second day in a row because of water issues in the city after a power outage at the town's water plant.
The district posted Monday afternoon to its Facebook page to notify Junction High School football players that practice will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. JHS volleyball players were instructed to report to the gym at 2:45 p.m. to go to Ingram for games, but the band will not have practice Monday night or Tuesday.

Officials said the city's water system is requiring adjusted treatment levels and that the chlorine residual count is lower than required, leading the Texas Commission Environmental Quality to notify customers of the need to boil their water.
According to several posts on the district’s Facebook page, water is available but can't be distributed.
The mayor said Sunday night that all citizens should be aware of extreme water conservation, even in areas that still have some water.
Anyone with questions about the water issue can contact City Hall at 325-446-2622.
