HOUSTON -- Tejano music star Emilio Navaira, who was injured in an Easter Sunday bus crash, had his condition upgraded to fair condition Wednesday, according to a report from
Click2Houston.com.
The singer, along with his band, suffered various injuries as Navaira crashed while driving the group's bus home from a concert in Houston the evening before.
Hospital officials, along with Navaira's wife Maria, have scheduled a press conference for Friday, according to a report from the
Houston Chronicle.
The 45-year-old singer was behind the wheel of his tour bus on March 23 when it slammed into a collection of freeway barrels that mark the interchange of Interstate 610 and U.S. Highway 59 in Bellaire, a southwest Houston enclave.
Officials at Memorial-Hermann-Texas Medical Center announced Wednesday that his condition had improved from critical to fair condition. They said more details on his condition would be provided at a news conference with his Dr. Alex Valadka and the singer's wife on Friday.
