Tejano Singer's Condition Upgraded Last Week

HOUSTON -- One month after a bus accident that prompted doctors to warn he might not live, Tejano music star Emilio Navaira was able to walk down a hallway after being moved to a private hospital room, according to Click2Houston.com.

Navaira was injured on Easter Sunday as he was thrown from a bus he was driving following an evening performance with his band, Grupo Rio.

Doctors initially warned Navaira had a 50-50 chance of recovering from his injuries, but the local singer was upgraded from critical to fair condition last week as his health continues to improve.
