Emilio's Blood Alcohol Level 0.19, Report Says

HOUSTON -- Tejano singer Emilio Navaira had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit, according to a report on the Houston Chronicle's Web site.

The entertainer was at the wheel of his band's tour bus on Easter Sunday when the bus crashed into a median along a highway near Bellaire, Texas.

Five others on the bus were injured, but Navaira's injuries were the worst of the group. His condition has since improved and he is now recovering at a Houston-area rehabilitation hospital.

Navaira has not yet been charged in the incident, but Bellaire police have asked the Harris County District Attorney to seek DWI and intoxication assault charges against Navaira, according to a report from KHOU-TV's Web site.
