The father of "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere has been arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence, law enforcement officials told TMZ.com.A police sergeant with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department told TMZ that Alan Panettiere was arrested for allegedly battering his wife, Hayden Panettiere's mom, Lesley Panettiere.TMZ said that Alan Panettiere was arrested early Monday morning and is currently being held on $50,000 bail.
Police sources told TMZ that Alan and Leslie Panettiere were at a party Sunday night when he allegedly became upset with her for "hanging" with someone and that she was "disrespecting" him.Law enforcement sources also told TMZ that, according to Lesley Panettiere's statement, the couple began arguing at home and Alan Panettiere allegedly struck her in the cheek.Hayden Panettiere plays Claire Bennet, the invincible cheerleader on the television drama "Heroes."The 18-year-old actress has previously appeared on such shows as "Ally McBeal," "Malcolm in the Middle" and "Commander in Chief." Her film credits include the family comedy "Racing Stripes" and "Remember the Titans," and the Disney Channel movie "Tiger Cruise."
