SAN ANTONIO -- Last week's death of Michael Jackson has led to numerous people trying to cash in as people remember the King of Pop.
A quick look at the San Antonio Craigslist sales listings
shows a significant increase in the amount of items for sale following the singer's death.
"Before he died, records we'd sell were $3, $6," said Steven Alejandro of Hogwild Records.
Alejandro said demand has been driven by emotion, but that supplies of Jackson's discography are available, even if they are limited in the last week.
"As far as stuff still in print, there's no reason for that to skyrocket," he said. "Because he sold a gazillion copies of "Thriller," there's a gazillion out there in attics and garage sales and all that stuff."
The Better Business Bureau has issued a warning advising people to watch for e-mails soliciting donations.
"If you are solicited for a donation of his charities, you never send any money or buy anything from spam e-mail," said Dean Taylor of the Better Business Bureau.
