Celebrity Chatter: Will Jennifer Have A White Wedding?

GarFleck Baby May Rush Plans

POSTED: Monday, May 9, 2005

I wish that Ben Affleck had walked down the aisle with Jennifer Garner before baby news was announced. I'm not being judgmental, it's just that Garner has wanted a real white wedding for so long.

Celebrity Chatter Michelle SolomonI suppose she could still have the gown with flowing train, the decorated church, something old and something new, but if the news of her pregnancy is true, she better make it quick.

Garner, who was previously married to "Felicity" costar Scott Foley, never had the big wedding she's always dreamed of. They separated in 2003 and were divorced in 2004. Affleck, after his experience with pre-nuptial paparazzi while with Jennifer Lopez, would most likely prefer a more low-key affair.

GarFleck apparently became engaged a couple of weeks ago, then E! Online broke the news of the pregnancy.

At press time, neither Garner or Affleck's representatives had commented on the baby news.

I've interviewed Garner and talked to Affleck during promotional tours for three of his movies. I hope that they can find happiness under the glaring spotlight, which is usually credited to wreaking havoc with relationships (Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston definitely included).

Speaking of glaring spotlights is it me or is it just the most unusual thing that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are now an item?

There have been conflicting reports about how the two met. He called her up and invited her to dine with him. She said she wanted to marry him in a Seventeen magazine issue. Voila! A Hollywood romance is born.

Sounds like it can all be credited to publicity. She stars in a new movie coming out this summer, "Batman Returns," and he stars in the mega-flick "War of the Worlds."

Not Just Kid's Stuff

A stop at Walt Disney World for the theme park's Happiest Celebration on Earth led to some hobnobbing for Celebrity Chatter. John ("Sex and the City") Corbett was there. He's releasing a record of Southern rock songs he wrote, which explains his rock star looks including scruffy hair and bushy beard. By the way, is he still dating Bo Derek?

Also celebrating was N'Sync's Joey Fatone. He's working on a major movie deal, although he wouldn't reveal what the film is. Fatone has found success on stage and screen in addition to his boy-band fame. He appeared in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and in the Broadway show "Rent." Ladies, the guy is cute up close.

Spotted noshing on food at one of the big party's at EPCOT Thursday night was Alan ("X-Men 3") Cumming.

Sipping a cocktail at the Animal Kingdom Lodge bar Thursday night at the resort was Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Carlton Banks on the hit series "Fresh Prince Of Bel Air."

Cheers! Ribeiro will be seen in the movie "Lovewrecked" with Amanda Bynes, which is due out this summer.

Stewart Won't Sing

Rod StewartRod Stewart won't be singing in London Monday night. The British Broadcast Corp. reports that Stewart had to call off his concert after a throat infection. It seemed to be causing some concern since Stewart had a cancerous growth removed from his throat in 2000.

Stewart, 60, is expected to perform Wednesday night at London's Earls Court.
