SAN ANTONIO -

The top eight showed off their Motown moves, but the bottom two couples will have to compete in the dance duel for a shot to stay in the competition. Let’s see who gets to dance again in this recap of the elimination show.

Before even a single couple was given good or bad news, the show started with a medley of Motown hits and the professionals showing off their dance moves.

Here’s the leader board:

The first four couples take the stage. They have to wait through a commercial break. I hit FF. Jaleel & Kym are safe. Maria & Derek are in jeopardy. The audience was cheering as if they didn’t hear the “in jeopardy” part. William & Cheryl are safe. Melissa & Maks are in jeopardy. The crowd booed.

Michaela de Prince is a dancer with the American Ballet Theater. She was born in Sierra Leone. She was orphaned. She has vitiligo and was called “the devil’s child” and didn’t think she’d be adopted. But she was. She came to America and became a dancer. AAAANNNNDDD I’m crying. I don’t know if I can watch her dance. It’s too late for tears (even when they’re happy tears)! Natasha Bedingfield performed “Wild Horses” during Michaela’s dance. She is an incredible dancer. You should drop everything and watch the show online to see for yourself!

Now, we have a taped piece with the stars talking about feeling the pressure of the competition. FF.

The Macy’s Stars of Dance featured a contemporary dance group and they were incredible!

Boys II Men performed “One More Dance.”

The other four couples take the stage. Katherine & Mark are safe. Gladys & Tristan are in jeopardy. Lots of booing happening. Donald & Peta are safe. Roshon & Chelsie are in jeopardy. More booing.

The four couples in jeopardy are on the stage. Melissa & Maks are safe. Gladys & Tristan are in the bottom two. Maria & Derek are safe. Roshon & Chelsie are in the bottom two.

Stand by for the dance duel. Tom talked to the couples – a little time filler? I’m hitting FF. Next up: a taped piece showing the bottom two rehearsing for the dance duel. Clearly the editors knew who was going to wind up in the bottom two!

The couples are dancing a jive simultaneously. Oh. Poor Gladys. She looks like she’s struggling to keep up with Tristan! Roshon looks like he has springs in his feet!

The judges decide who they’re keeping. Carrie Ann saved Gladys & Tristan. Len saved Roshon & Chelsie. Bruno is the tiebreaker. He chose to save Roshon & Chelsie.

Aw. Poor Gladys. She may not be leaving on a midnight train to Georgia, but she IS leaving. The top seven couples learn a new dance next week. I hope the theme is a good one!
