SAN ANTONIO -

It’s the next to the last elimination, which means my time of recapping this silly show is almost over (and if you’re looking at the time this was posted, you can tell I have put this off as long as I possibly could).

First, we get a look at the leaderboard:

  1. Maria & Derek – 59 points
  2. William & Cheryl – 58 points
  3. Donald & Peta – 57 points
  4. Katherine & Mark – 56 points

Then, the judges brought back William & Cheryl’s samba.

Oh, this is going to be the longest results show (minus the finale). The first couple to learn their fate: Katherine & Mark. Katherine has recovered enough from her back injury to be cleared to keep dancing. That’s a good thing because these two are going to the finals!

First time filler: the pros dissect the final four stars. Peta said Maria has shown the most improvement. Mark said Maria is the dark horse of the competition. Peta said Maria’s injuries may hold her back. Derek said he’s impressed with William’s ballroom dancing. Peta said William is Donald’s biggest threat in the competition. Mark said William’s biggest flaw is his technique. Derek said Katherine excels in the lyrical dances. Cheryl said Katherine never misses a step. Mark said Katherine needs to be calm. Derek said Donald has personality and charisma. Mark said it looks like Donald is leading Peta – that’s important. Peta said Donald is stiff and has struggled with that. Cheryl said athletes know when to peak.

Tristan and Chelsie returned to perform the “Design A Dance.” Every bit of it was chosen by the people online – the couple, the song, the dance, and the costumes. These two are just good. You should see it for yourself.

Alanis Morisette performed “Guardian.”

The next couple to learn their fate: Maria & Derek. These two are in jeopardy. WHA?!?!? They seemed to know it. Each of them said “jeopardy” before Tom did.

Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta and Mary J. Blige performed a number from “Rock of Ages.”

Carrie Underwood performed “Good Girl.”

Back to the business! William & Cheryl and Donald & Peta take the stage. William & Cheryl are in the finals! Donald & Peta are in jeopardy.

The couple who won’t dance in the finals: Maria & Derek. Sad face!

I. AM. STUNNED. Wow. I thought those two could have won it all! Oh well.

We’ll see which one of those three couples can pull it off. The remaining three couples are all really good dancers. I can’t wait to see what they do next week!

UPDATE: In my sleepy blogging haze, I forgot to tell you the next season will include all stars. Go here to tell ABC who you think should dance again.
