They made it through two dances and so did I. That means I can skip that first recap hour. This is the time of the season when I warn you that I will hit fast forward (known as FF) during parts of this show, so if I miss something, you know why. On to the business of sending the first couple home!
The pros kicked off the elimination show with a new routine. As good as most of the 12 couples are, these pros dancing together are something to see!
Next, a look at where the couples stand:
- Katherine & Mark – 52 points
- Roshon & Chelsie – 49 points
- William & Cheryl – 49 points
- Jaleel & Kym – 48 points
- Maria & Derek – 46 points
- Sherri & Val – 46 points
- Donald & Peta – 45 points
- Jack & Anna – 44 points
- Gladys & Tristan – 42 points
- Gavin & Karina – 41 points
- Melissa & Maks – 40 points
- Martina & Tony – 37 points
The lowest scoring women and their partners are first to learn their fates (after a taped piece recapping their performances). FF. Melissa & Maks and Gladys & Tristan are safe. Martina & Tony are in jeopardy.
Matt Nathanson and Sugarland performed “Run.”
The next group to learn their fates: the top scoring men and their partners. Not only did they have to suffer through a recap of their performances, they also had to wait through a commercial break! NOT NICE! Jaleel & Kym and William & Cheryl are safe. Roshon & Chelsie are in jeopardy.
My first FF of the night: a time-filler with the stars talking about being eliminated.
The DWTS Troupe performed to give us all one more reminder that these professional dancers mean business on the dance floor.
Katie Couric was in the audience. Tom accused her of grabbing his booty. OOOH! If you’ve been a fan of the show for a while, there’s a new Las Vegas show with past stars dancing! Maybe I need to book a vacation…
The next group to learn their fates: the top scoring women and their partners. Maria & Derek, Sherri & Val and Katherine & Mark are all safe.
Sugarland performed “Find The Beat Again.”
The last group to learn their fates: the lowest scoring men. Donald & Peta and Jack & Anna are safe. Gavin & Karina are in jeopardy.
The final elimination of the night is full of dramatic pauses. FINALLY Roshon & Chelsie are declared safe. Tony & Martina and Gavin & Karina take the world’s longest walk down the fancy glowing stairs before the business happens. The couple going home: Martina & Tony.
Poor Tony! I want to start a campaign to get him a true contender next season! I think Gavin and his hat have their work cut out for them next week. Jack also has some work to do.
