'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' set for huge opening this weekend (w/ trailer)

'The Lovers', 'The Dinner' also to open this weekend

SAN ANTONIO – It's finally here! "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' releases this weekend.

The mega-blockbuster sequel to the 2014 Marvel hit is now in theaters, and the expectations is that this new film will be just as big with audiences.

Viewers should expect large ticket sales and sold out theaters when going to the show this weekend.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

In this latest installment, Peter Quill and the other Guardians are hired by an alien race to protect their precious batteries. When Rocket however steals the items they were supposed to be guarding, a fleet is sent to search for vengeance. While escaping, Peter's mysterious parentage is also revealed.

The film is 2 hours and 16 minutes and is rated PG-13.

The Lovers

A long-married, dispassionate couple (played by Debra Winger and Tracy Letts) are both in the midst of serious affairs. But right before calling it quits a spark suddenly re-ignites, leading them back into romance.

The film is 94 minutes and rated R.

The Dinner

Two couples dining at an upscale restaurant disguises the fact that both are struggling with intense family issues. The fim is a look at how far parents will go to protect their children. The movie is based on a novel by Herman Koch.

The film is 120 minutes and is rated R.
