'The Bachelor' Blog: A whirlwind of emotions take over in week 6

Storms brew during Bahamas adventure

SAN ANTONIO – The wait is finally over! What is Ben going to do with Olivia?

“Bachelor” nation was left on a cliffhanger when he pulled her aside before the rose ceremony at the end of last week’s episode.

In that moment, most of the ladies thought he was sending her home. As you may recall, Olivia sparked a frenzy of commotion among the ladies with some of her controversial comments. She left a bad taste in many of their mouths, and several of the ladies were not afraid to tell Ben about her concerns.

Then came the moment of truth. But when it came time to tackle to issues with Olivia, her response was bizarre. It even felt like she was dancing around the truth. Ultimately, Ben took her side. You can bet jaws dropped when they walked back into the rose ceremony together.

That meant one of the ladies was going home, and this time it was Jennifer. I can’t say that was all too shocking. Their time together was limited, and it didn’t seem like they had much in common.

Next up, the Bahamas. The ladies were hoping for some relaxing, fun in the sun, but their excitement was short lived when Chris Harrison revealed there would be a two-on-one date this week. For those of you unfamiliar with the show, this is when two ladies go on the date, but only one gets the rose and the other is sent home.

No one wanted to be on that date card!

Meanwhile, Caila got the first one-on-one date. This crushed the other ladies. Leah was especially impacted by this decision because she hasn’t really had much alone time with Ben yet. Honestly, I can’t say I blame her for being frustrated. I think she just wanted a fair shot.

Caila was all smiles going into her date. But after some time fishing, things got real. Ben confronted her about some doubts and concerns, and some of her responses really threw him off. Ultimately, she eased his fears and she got a rose.

Back at the hotel, it was time to find out who was going on the two-on-one date. Drum roll please, it was Olivia and Emily. Yikes! You can bet this will be brutal.

Next up, the group date, and the ladies had no idea what was coming. They were completely caught off guard when they found out they would be swimming and feeding with pigs. But what was supposed to be a fun, carefree date, turned awkward for everyone. Some insecurities arose, and frankly they were just tired of competing with each other.

Can we say get it together, ladies? Ultimately, this left Ben frustrated and confused.

Then during her alone time with Ben, Leah warned him about Lauren B. She basically said there was a different side to her that Ben wasn’t seeing. Seriously?! Why would she waste her time talking about someone else? She definitely didn’t score any points with that move.

Lauren B. was left speechless when Ben confronted her about the comments. Then Leah straight up lied to Lauren B. when she asked her about it. Not cool, Leah! At the end of the night, Amanda got the rose.

Leah wasn’t willing to go out fighting, so she went over to his hotel room for some alone, and to talk about Lauren B. some more. Once again, what is she thinking?! Why on earth would she want to make someone else the center of her conversation?

Ultimately, Ben saw through it. After feeling a disconnect in their relationship, he sent her home right then and there. Wow! Honestly, I think he should have sent her home sooner.

The two-on-one date was awkward, as we all expected. Ben didn’t waste any time, and immediately pulled Olivia aside. During their alone time together, she revealed she was in love with him. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Then there is Emily. She is honest about things she needs to work on, and said she wanted Ben to be part of her growing process.

After his alone time with both ladies, he pulled Olivia aside again and they walked away with the rose. Emily was devastated thinking she was going home, honestly, that’s what I thought too. Boy were we all wrong! I almost dropped my remote when he told Olivia she was going home. I was so proud of Ben! The crazy is over, at least for the moment!

Emily was overjoyed when he offered her the rose, but Ben was not all smiles. It was clear a lot was weighing on his heart.

Then another bombshell, there would be no cocktail party before the rose ceremony. That meant Ben already knew who was going home.

Spoiler Alert!

In the end, Lauren H. was sent home. Once again, I can’t say that was all too surprising. He just had stronger relationships with some of the other ladies.

The teaser for the rest of the season left me on the edge of my seat! You know more bombshells are coming!
