SAN ANTONIO -- Army veteran Lisa Phillips’ company is Gizmo’s Gift. Gizmo was a military working dog. She realized that dogs like Gizmo were classified as equipment.
So she set out to change that.
“There was nobody out there caring for these dogs,” she said.
She made a promise to Gizmo that she would make a difference and change their status as “equipment.” But they still need medical care outside of the military, and that’s why she founded her company.
