Brisket, Big Red Glazed Ribs are a must try at Southtown restaurant

Flavor Favs: B&D Ice House

SAN ANTONIO – The Southtown area of San Antonio is becoming a go to spot for foodies. One of the most popular places in the area is B&D Ice House on South Alamo.

The building has been a part of the area for years, but was revamped a little over two years ago to bring barbecue back to Southtown.

The Jason Dady Restaurant Group along with the owners of the Friendly Spot helped in recreating the concept.

B&D Ice House is now like the downtown sister to Dady's Two Brother Barbecue but the menu, recipes and signature items are different.

All the meats are smoked with oak and several of those items have become favorites for customers.

"It would be the salt and pepper brisket being out number one item," Vicent Rodriguez from B&D Ice House said. "Followed by the big red glazed babies which are baby back ribs."

Yes that is right, the ribs are glazed with the syrup used in Big Red Soda.

This small ice house does get very busy time to time, but the food, beer options and environment make it all worth the wait.
