Authentic Middle Eastern restaurant a big hit in SA

Flavor Favs: Jerusalem Grill

SAN ANTONIO – The concept of a Middle Eastern restaurant in San Antonio started in 2004, when Jerusalem Grill opened its first location on the Northwest Side.

"There was a need at the time, a need for a place like this," chef Ted Nana said.

Since then, the place has grown in popularity and has opened a second location on 9210 Wurzbach Rd.

The new, bigger location also has all the original favorites.

"We have anything from hummus to something we call foul, which is a fava bean salad," Nana said. "We have a variety things you can pick and choose from."

Everything is made from scratch on a daily basis, and the authenticity is exact.

"If you make a trip to the Middle East, this is what you would get," Nana said.

Besides the food, the service and atmosphere is welcoming.

"Sometimes, it takes some time, but that is what our cuisine is," Nana said. "It's supposed to take some time because we want you to feel welcome."
