Tex-Mex food with a vegan twist

Flavor Favs: Señor Veggie

SAN ANTONIO – Tacos, tamales, menudo and nachos are all a part of the menu at Señor Veggie, and they are all options that are also vegan.

"It's about turning Tex-Mex into something we can really enjoy and not feel guilty about," owner and chef José Cruz said.

For three years Señor Veggie has been around at 620 South Presa Street, but prior to that Cruz and his wife were regulars at both farmers markets and catering.

"We were the city's first exclusive vegan and 100 percent plant based caterers," Cruz said.

Señor Veggie continues to grow and shows San Antonio that there is nothing to be scared of when it comes to vegan food.

We've managed to create these full meals based on existing ideas of what people have been enjoying for a very long time," Cruz said.

Señor Veggie is opened seven days a week and for a look at their menu, click here.
