SAN ANTONIO – Tycoon Flats has been part of the St. Mary's Street strip for over three decades, serving up a variety of tasty burgers since 1983.
"We are having a resurgence now," owner Richard Hartman said. "It's nice to kind of see it coming back."
The restaurant's burgers are what keep customers coming back, with a menu featuring a lot of options.
"I have from the crazy to the normal," Hartman said.
First, there are two sizes of burgers to choose from. There is the Icebox, with a thinner patty, and the Flats Burger, which is a thicker burger.
Specialty burgers include the Honey BBQ Bacon Burger, which is a 1/2 pound burger topped with cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, grilled onions, honey barbecue sauce and pickles. Others are the Mexican Burger, with queso and guacamole, and the Benedict Burger, with a fried egg and Canadian bacon. Click here to see the full burger menu.
The ideas for the burgers come from the staff, and every Friday a new burger is created. The cook gets to decide what to make.
Tycoon Flats is a family friendly place that caters to all ages.
"When someone asks what's your demographic, I say 20 to 90, because we have everybody that walks in here," Hartman said.
If burgers aren't for you, Tycoon Flats serves up delicious hot wings, hot dogs and more.
