Hormone therapy can be done to stop the body from producing testosterone, according to the Mayo Clinic. This is typically done through medications or surgery.
Surgery to remove the prostate gland is also an option of those with prostate cancer.
Patients can also consider treatments that involved freezing tissue to kill cancer cells and heating prostate tissue.
Chemotherapy can also be used to kill rapidly growing cells and for cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.
