If you are new to diabetes, have a family member living with diabetes or have been living with diabetes for a number of years, our team is here to help you. In addition to individual appointments with the nurse and dietitian, we offer the following:

  • Cooking Classes: Healthy eating with diabetes. Download 2009 Cooking Class Schedule
  • Carbohydrate Counting Class: Learn how to balance food and insulin
  • Insulin: Starting Insulin and Insulin Pump Training
  • Fitness Center: Join our Fitness Center and Learn to Execise Safely
  • Drop-in Clinic: Once a month drop in to speak with a Diabetes Educator or to have a glucose check.
  • Living Well with Diabetes — Topics include: Blood Glucose Testing, Carbohydrate and Fiber, Healthy Meal Planning, Medications, Keeping Fit/Exercise, Label Reading, Foot Care, Preventing Complications, Restaurants and Alcohol.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunities are available for Physicians, RN's, Pharmacists and Dieticians: view the 2009 training schedule.


The Diabetes Treatment Center offers outpatient medical evaluation and treatment of diabetes and endocrine disorders by board-certified endocrinologists. Nurse case mangers assist in ensuring that all relevant services are provided to the patient and family. Individual, group and family counseling is provided by licensed master's level social workers. State-of-the art equipment includes four hyperbaric chambers with a wound care clinic to a 28-station renal dialysis center. Diagnostic and support services for the various disciplines include laboratories, EKG, X-ray rooms, pharmacy and a rehabilitation area.
