SAN ANTONIO -- For San Antonio, the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner has become synonymous with the holiday. The dinner, complete with turkey and all the trimmings, is a feast for those who otherwise might not have a Thanksgiving dinner.Organizers said they expect to serve up to 25,000 people and said they are ready if more show up.Among those who are serving the dinner was Mayor Julian Castro and his wife, Erica."We live in a city with a warm heart and this is probably the best example of that," Castro said. The dinner, now in its 30th year, is a tradition that businessman Raul Jimenez began and his family has continued following his death in 1998."I know he's smiling down from Heaven," said Patricia Jimenez, the daughter of the late Raul Jimenez. "He always wanted to do things bigger and better."More than 100 local businesses have made donations to make the dinner possible. The dinner is free for anyone and will be served until 4:30 p.m.
