SAN ANTONIO – Every year, a Boerne family displays around 300,000 Christmas lights on its home. And every year, it uses the money raised to help a family or charity.
This year, the Jones family has chosen to help Laila Bull, 4, who has leukemia.
Mike Jones said it takes more than two months to get the Christmas light display set up. Music is then synced with the light show.
Near the display, the family has set up a collection box where people can donate.
“We would not care if nobody came and saw it. We do it for simply the joy. This is our way of giving back to the community,” Jones said. “We want people to enjoy seeing the lights.”
The Bull family said they are very grateful for the Jones’ generosity and the support from the Boerne community.
The light display is in the 200 block of Wollschlaeger Drive and will run every night until midnight and wrap up the first weekend of January.
