Something as simple as a quick trip to a convenience store or bank could take a turn in the wrong direction in the blink of an eye.

KSAT-12 Crime Analyst Eddie Gonzalez has some safe ways for you to help police when you see crime happen:

  • First, protect yourself. Stay out of harm's way.
  • Call 911.
  • Get a description of the vehicle, whether it is the make, model, or color.
  • If possible, get the license plate number. If you can get a full plate, that is fantastic, but police can work off of partial plates too.
  • Get a description of the person: male or female, height, type of clothing, color of clothing, and length of hair.
