SAN ANTONIO -- Employers in San Antonio are expected to hire people at a steady pace during the second quarter of 2009, according to a Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.
The survey revealed that the employment outlook for San Antonio is the fifth-best in the nation.
From April to June, 21 percent of companies interviewed plan to hire more employees, while 6 percent expect to reduce their payrolls, the survey said. Another 68 percent of companies expect to maintain current staff levels and 5 percent are not certain of their hiring plans.
The best job prospects appear to be in health services and leisure and hospitality, among others, the survey said.
