The third annual San Antonio Cocktail Conference begins Thursday with Opening Night at the Majestic Theatre.

The ornate landings and alcoves of the historic downtown theatre will play host to 25 bars, where ambassadors of select spirits will serve up their own signature drinks and a benefit auction will be held.

The party continues Friday with Texas Spirits Night.

The evening launches from the Weston Centre with cocktails hosted by Remy-Cointreau. Event-goers will then board barges and travel upriver to the Pearl Brewery for a showcase of 11 Texas brands, presented by some of San Antonio’s finest craft cocktail bars, and high-end bites provided by Pearl restaurant chefs.

On Saturday, the conference will close down the sidewalks on Houston Street for a night of food and drink Bohanan’s Bar and courtyard and overlooking the River Walk at L?ke.

The conference comes to an end Sunday with the Original Cocktail Competition, sponsored by William Grant & Sons. Contestants will each prepare an original cocktail and enter for a grand prize of $2,000.

Proceeds from the conference will benefit ChildSafe and HeartGift of San Antonio.

ChildSafe, Bexar County's only children's advocacy center, provides help to children who have been abused and neglected.

HeartGift is a group of surgeons, pediatric cardiologists, medical personnel, volunteers, and host families who are dedicated to providing lifesaving heart surgery to disadvantaged children.
