SAN ANTONIO -

Happy post Valentine's Day,
I hope you all were able to spend some quality time with those special people in your lives. I had a great evening with my family as we watched a movie at home while eating a nice healthy dinner I prepared for us. This is the first Valentine's Day in a long time that didn't involve some decadent, rich and fatty foods followed by some equally gut busting sweet treats. My wife and daughter have really been trying to make adjustments in their lifestyle habits as well so that they can be a great support system for me. I know that without their support this journey would be nearly impossible to follow successfully. So my message for today's blog is "Will you be mine?" What do I mean by that you might ask? Well like I said before, without the love and support of my family I know I could not be successful. I know that many of us have different struggles and challenges in our lives that we often try and keep hidden away and shoulder the burden in silence. I'm here to tell you that the key to embracing change is to be open and upfront with what you are going through with the loved ones in your life. By being honest with those closest to your life you give them the opportunity to be the support system that could help you be successful in your quest. A step further than that would be to let EVERYONE know what you are trying to do. A weight being lifted off of your shoulders will help you get moving towards your goals! You may not find positive reinforcement from everyone you encounter, but that is THEIR problem, not yours. You should not be ashamed of your personal struggles nor should you be afraid of to receive encouragement and support from others. So I ask you, WILL YOU BE MINE? Can you help be the support system and positive voices in my journey as well as for other people you may encounter in your everyday lives? Take a little time out of your day to "pay it forward" to someone who just might need to hear a kind word or if you are working through some struggles of your own give them voice and give others the opportunity to lend their support.
I hope everyone has a great week filled with courage and support,
Daniel
