Arlington, TX -- (Sports Network) - Adrian Beltre hit for the cycle during a five-hit effort at the plate, driving in three and scoring five runs in Seattle's 12-6 drubbing of Texas in the first of three games at Rangers Park.

Beltre became the fourth player in Mariners history to hit for the cycle, the last being John Olerud on June 16, 2001. Arizona's Stephen Drew also hit for the cycle in Arizona's 8-6 win over the Cardinals on Monday. It was just the second time in major-league history that two cycles have been hit on the same day, as the Tigers' Bobby Veach and the New York Giants' George Burns accomplished the feat on September 17, 1920.

Yuniesky Betancourt, Jamie Burke and Jeremy Reed each had two RBI for the Mariners, who have won a season-high four in a row and seven of eight overall. Betancourt finished with three hits, including two doubles and a solo home run.

The offensive explosion made a winner out of Sean Green (4-4), who relieved Carlos Silva with three scoreless innings. Silva, fresh off being activated from the disabled list, allowed six runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings on the mound.

Luis Mendoza (3-7) was drilled for four runs on five hits and a walk while only recording an out in defeat. Starter Matt Harrison yielded five runs -- four earned -- on 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Taylor Teagarden was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma before the game and hit a three-run homer after subbing in for an injured Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who left with a sore elbow in the fifth. Josh Hamilton added a solo shot and Chris Davis had three hits and two RBI for Texas, which has dropped four of five.

Trailing 6-4, Seattle got a run on Burke's RBI single in the sixth and took the lead for good with a four-run seventh.

With Mendoza on the hill, Raul Ibanez hit a seeing-eye single up the middle to plate the tying run, and, following a Beltre double and an intentional walk, Reed hit a pinch-hit, two-run single. Josh Rupe came on in relief and gave up a sac fly to Burke before getting out of the inning.

Betancourt made it a 10-6 game with an eighth-inning leadoff homer. Beltre later completed his cycle with a triple to the right-field gap, scoring Ibanez, who had singled, before Tug Hulett brought him in with a single to finish the game's scoring.

Beltre, who also hit a pair of homers Sunday, went yard to open the second for the game's first run. The Rangers quickly tied it in the bottom half on Davis' single up the middle, scoring Marlon Byrd from second.

Beltre got Seattle going again in the fourth, singling home Betancourt and scoring all the way from first when Wladimir Balentien rolled a ball to the left-field gap for a 3-1 lead.

Betancourt's sacrifice fly in the fifth gave Seattle a three-run edge.

Hamilton was the catalyst behind Texas' five-run fifth, pounding his 31st home run of the season to open the inning. The Rangers then put runners on the corners and Davis singled home a run before Teagarden ended Silva's return with his second career homer, a no-doubter to left-center for a 6-4 lead.

Silva is winless since June 28's 4-2 defeat of the San Diego Padres...Texas still leads the season series 8-7...Texas' Hank Blalock had two doubles in defeat...In addition to Teagarden, the Rangers recalled infielder German Duran from Oklahoma...The Mariners selected the contracts of pitcher Justin Thomas and infielder Luis Valbuena from Triple-A Tacoma and transferred utilityman Mike Morse from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
