On the eve of Thanksgiving, traffic was light at the San Antonio International Airport, as long lines and waits seems virtually non-existent.
According to AAA, the day before Thanksgiving is considered the busiest travel day of the season, with an estimated 43.6 million people expected to travel 50 miles or further for the holiday.
The Sunday after Thanksgiving is considered the second most-traveled day, when most people return home from their destinations.
“The lines went fast,” said Robert Mendez, who came to the airport two hours ahead of his flight, anticipating long lines. “Took about five minutes.”
Although the airport saw little traffic Wednesday, it may be a different story on the roadways.
AAA estimates a whopping 90 percent of all travelers will reach their destination by driving.
