SAN ANTONIO -

A man was killed and his wife injured after police said a suspected drunken driver hit them while they were riding their bikes early Saturday morning.
Ruben Morin III, 25, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter , intoxication assault and failure to stop and render aid.
The accident happened just before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday near North Pine and East Commerce.
Police said there were four bicyclists headed East on Commerce when Morin hit two of them with his car.
The two cyclists have been identified as Jose Gamez, 44, and his wife, Rosalba Gamez, 42.
Jose Gamez died at the scene. Rosalba Gamez was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center and was released a few hours later. She sustained serious road burns to her head, legs and arms.
Gamez said her husband was the only one of the four cyclists who was wearing a helmet and that he leaves behind four children and one grandchild.
On Saturday, Morin's family said he would never leave the scene of an accident and he is friends with the couple's son.
However, police said after Morin hit the couple, he left the scene of the accident, parked his car at a nearby convenience store and then passed out in a front yard in the 1400 block of South Olive Street.
Police found Morin at the house and arrested him.
Morin was released on $55,000 bond Saturday night.
