SAN ANTONIO -

Bexar County sheriff's deputies were on the scene of a deadly shooting Tuesday evening in Southeast Bexar County near East Central High School.

Investigators have confirmed that a man shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.

The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. in the 9900 block of New Sulphur Springs Road.

Investigators said after shooting his wife, then man ran out of the house and shot himself.

He did not die, however, and investigators said he was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in serious condition.

They say the couple's daughter, who was home at the time of the shooting, did not see it happen but heard it. They said she was the one who called 911.
