A fiery crash in New Braunfels claimed the life of a man and sent two others to the hospital late Thursday night.
New Braunfels police responded to the crash just before 10 p.m. in the 600 block of Business I-35 North near the I-35 North access road.
A press release stated officers found a a 2002 Dodge Ram Pickup upside down and on fire.
An officer pulled two passengers from the burning truck and was working on rescuing the trapped driver as other officers fought to keep the fire down.
Fire Department crews arrived and extinguished the fire. Crews then extracted the driver after prying open the truck, the release stated.
The 18-year-old driver and one of his passengers, a 23-year-old male, were flown to University Hospital in San Antonio with life threatening injuries.
The second passenger, a 25-year-old male, was transported to Christus Santa Rosa, were he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation showed the truck was speeding and the driver lost control.
The truck struck a curb, drove over a sign, crashed into a traffic light utility pole and rolled over, the release stated. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation and charges were unknown as of 5 a.m. Friday. The name of the victim has not been released.
