1 suspect arrested, 1 sought in near North Side capital murder case

Fabian Pena, 19, charged with capital murder

SAN ANTONIO – Fabian Pena, 19, has been arrested in connection with a capital murder case.  San Antonio police however, are still searching for a second suspect.

Both men face a charge of capital murder.

An arrest warrant affidavit said that San Antonio police found the victim, Angelo Polendo, 37, lying in the middle of the street near N. Sabinas and Lombrano.

They say he had been shot and possibly run over with a vehicle.

The affidavit said that Pena flagged down officers near the scene and told them he had been shot. He also admitted that he had arranged for the alleged shooter to buy synthetic marijuana from the victim, the affidavit said.

Police said Pena denied having anything to do with the shooting that led to Polendo's death. However, witnesses told them that Pena was with the shooter at the time of Polendo's murder, the affidavit said.

Investigators believe robbery was the motive.

Although the affidavit names the second suspect, it does not appear that he has been arrested yet.
