After reports of bumps, bruises and bloody noses, Dynacraft recalled more than 10,000 electric scooters.

The recall involves Hello Kitty City Motor Scooters sold at Toys R Us from October to January  and Monster High City Motor Scooters sold at Walmart from November to January.

The scooters can accelerate suddenly while the child is riding on it causing the rider to lose control.

Parents should return the scooters to the store for a full refund.

For serial numbers and more information on recalled models, visit www.cpsc.gov or www.dynacraftbike.com.

Blower vacuums

Nearly 400,000 electric blower vacuums have been recalled because objects that are sucked in can break through the plastic housing and injure the user.

Nearly a quarter million of those blower vacuums include two Homelite models, sold at Home Depot last year.

Consumers should contact www.homelite.com and click on "Safety Notices" for more information.

Also recalled for the same reason are 131,500 Expert Gardener electric blower vacuums sold at  Walmart and Walmart.com last year.  For more information, go to www.expertgardenertools.com and click on "Safety Notices."

Thousands of one-cup coffeemakers can brew up trouble, so they are recalled. The recall involves Jerson Style model CM12B with a date code 1217.

The appliances can overheat and start a fire, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission's announcement.

The coffeemakers were sold through major online retailers.

Owners should contact www.jerdonstyle.com for a full refund.

Christmas trees

Balsam Hill recalled several models of its pre-lit artificial Christmas trees.

The remote control box attached to the tree can overheat and melt, posing a burn or shock danger to people.

The recalled trees were sold online at www.balsamhill.com from July through December 2012.
